Please describe what makes your Initiative truly innovative and how it departs from existing approaches. When writing your response, you may wish to highlight: What is new – for example, novel models, processes, technologies, participants, or ways of thinking; How it disrupts or improves existing practices—what gap, limitation, or barrier it overcomes. The aim is to demonstrate the freshness, originality, and transformative potential of your project.

Please explain how your project or initiative can grow beyond its current scope and inspire others. When writing your response, you may wish to highlight: Scalability – how the project could be expanded within its original context (e.g., reaching more people, covering more areas, or increasing its impact); Transferability – how the approach could be adapted or replicated in other urban or regional contexts; Enablers – factors that make scaling or replication possible (e.g., clear methodology, adaptable design, supportive governance, partnerships, or cost-effectiveness). The aim is to show the potential reach, adaptability, and influence of your initiative.

Please explain how your Initiative addresses objectives and principles that go beyond the award category selected for submission. When writing your response, you may wish to: Identify the categories (from the 6 award categories) that your project contributes to; Describe the link between your project’s activities and the objectives/principles of each category; Highlight synergies—show how your approach creates value across multiple themes rather than focusing on just one; Provide evidence or examples of how the initiative’s outcomes reflect these overlaps in practice.

Please describe how citizens were actively involved in the Initiative at key stages, such as: Conception – contributing to the initial idea or identifying needs; Design – shaping the approach, methods, or activities; Implementation – taking part in carrying out or delivering the Initiative; Evaluation – assessing outcomes, impacts, or lessons learned. Focus on formal and structured participation mechanisms (e.g., public consultations, workshops, advisory groups, citizen assemblies, surveys, or co-creation processes).
